I have been working in the materials testing field since 1985. BS in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering, MS in Mechanical Engineering - both from UC Berkeley. Specializing in structural load test fixtures, I've worked both in the field and laboratory on both standardized (ASTM, CalTrans, ICBO etc.) tests and also custom test procedures. Recently I've been manufacturing components for the Automated Test Equipment (computer memory chips) industry. As a matter of diversification I've also been working closely with the production process of synthetic DNA. Mostly specialized components for holding 96 well trays and related process and robotic machines. Presently Monterey Industries has CNC and manual machine tools, also with welding capabilities.
